[SOLVED] Transfer from Apple Laptop to Apple desktop

Hello, I have a laptop that has green and black vertical lines down the center and blue on the sides (covers entire screen) need data files transferred, how do I do this

Connecting an external monitor is the easiest way, unless you want to remove the harddrive or already had vnc setup.

hook it to the desktop with a fire wire cable, and boot it up as a HDD or target disc or whatever their verbage is (cmd+F I think). The desktop will see it as an external HDD and you can move your stuff over.

Or you could try removing the HDD from the laptop and put it physically in the desktop, but being a Mac this would be an act of God.

4 easy steps

1. Turn off your laptop
2. Connect a firewire cable between your laptop and your new or other mac
3. Turn on your laptop - holding down the "t" key (to enter target mode)
4. On your other mac, the laptop will show up as an external firewire drive
