Transfer GTA V steam from one PC to another?

I have bad internet so it says it will take 1 day and 17 hours on steam to download. I have a friend who says he has GTA V installed on his pc and steam, would it be possible to transfer his GTA V form his computer on mine via usb? I already bought it on steam I just need to download it.

Your friend should be able to make a Steam backup of the game and transfer it to your PC
If you have the game activated on your account you should be able to Restore it from that backup
After that the game will verify it's files' cache and so on and you should be able to play then

is that all? just like that? and what about the updates? we have the same graphics cards but different cpus, will that affect whether or not it will run on mine? if not then, thanks!

Doesn't really matter you can change the settings in game anyway
Settings are usually saved both on Steam Cloud and in your "Documents" so they shouldn't get transfered

Also by making a backup I didn't mean copy/paste the GTA V folder, there is an option in steam to do it 😀
