A pc novice friend of mine from Singapore wants to upgrade his laptop and desktop with SSDs. He asked me to buy the SSDs and install Windows 10 on them and ship over to Singapore for him to plug them into his laptop and desktop. I was just wondering will this work or if I install windows on the SSDs using my PC first then transferring to his pcs will not work. I told him to do a test, unplugging his laptop hard drive and plug into his HP desktop to see if it boots up and he says the HP desktops says Boot Device cannot be found. Please give me your opinion

During the windows installation, drivers for motherboards and gpu gets installed automatically? I was actually just planning to install windows
Its more than just the GPU drivers, etc.
The Windows install talks to the motherboard on a very low level.

It is unlikely that it would actually boot up in his system.

This is your time to tech him how to clone or do a clean install on the drive, while it is in his system.
