Transfer large amount of data to external drives???

Wondering:
I have about 4TB of data on my internal hard drives on my computer. I would like to transfer all the data (movies and stuff) to my new two 2TB WD green drives that will be housed in an external enclosure (Rosewill; JBOD). Obviously this is going to take forever via the USB2.

My question:
Can I just hook up my two 2TB green drives to the two available SATA ports on my motherboard, do the 4TB worth of transfer to the two green drives, then unhook the two green drives and put them back in the external enclosure???? Will everything be okay and/or is that possible/allowed?

Well you can do that or if your external enclosure and your pc support eSata then that would be a much better option to the usb2.
