Transfer storage drive for old pc to new pc

I have just built a new pc and want to keep my 3TB storage drive from my old pc, it is just a storage drive and doesnt have an os installed. My old pc was running Windows 7 but my new pc Windows 8 how do I do this seamlessly?

Unplug drive from old PC
Plug in drive to new PC
Boot new PC from OS drive
Delete Windows from old drive

Alternatively, use Google and you could have had an answer hours ago.

As mentioned there isn't an os on it if you had read the post properly. My os is on ssd. And the reason I posed is because id already googled it and the answers were for drives with the os installed. I wanted to know how to do it seamlessly as I have heard about file permission issues when moving a drive from win7 to win8

Right. Have you tried simply plugging it in and seeing if it works? There is no reason for it to not work.
