My laptop died/crashed. I am assuming the files on the SSD are ok. I don't want/need the OS because I purchased a new laptop. If I buy a new USB SSD External Enclosure and plug it into my new laptop, will I be able to transfer the files (pics, pdfs, etc) even though the old SSD was booting my old laptop - this is Win10 to Win10 transfer. Thx.

When you say crashed, do you mean windows was not loading but the drive was still picked up by the bios?

If yes then you should be able to do this ...
If no ... then I doubt it! I have seen 3 OCZ drives die because corrupt firmware on the drive, one client even paid £1000 + vat to get the data recovered.
