Hi,

I have an issue. I have windows 10 Anniversary Update Home edition. I have certain Programs Like aol and Google chrome that will only install to my c:/Program files and c:\Program File(x 86) Foler and I have a 128 gig ssd drive for my drive that windows is on. And I would Like to Move the c:\program Files and the c;\program Files(x86) Folders to one of the other hard drives that I have on my computer so that I can have aol and google chrome and differnt programs install those drives in the program files folder and the program files (x86) Folder. The problem is that when I go to move the folder to another drive Like my G drive or any drive for that matter I get an error that says An unexpected error is keep you from moving this folder if you continue to recieve this error you can use the error code ox80070057 to search for online help then it gives me the error ocde again and says that the parameter is incorrect The it give me the folder name program Files(x86) And it says the parameter is incorrect.. How do I fix this so I can delete aol and google chrome and other programs and reinstall them and have them install to thes program Files folder but not on the c drive ssd

thank you!

I stopped reading right there.
Nope...not gonna work.

Uninstall the applications.
Reinstall them on the drive of your choice. As you install, when it asks where..do NOT accpt the default. Choose Custom or Advanced, and you choose where it gets to install to.

Applications that you install on a different drive do NOT have to be in a folder called "Program Files".
They can live in a folder of ANY name. MyPrograms, for instance.

See this about space management for that SSD:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

Well see I like most of what you said and I'm probably going to mark this as the best solution, however with aol and google chrome they just auto save to the programfiles directory. And aol will not let me install aol to any other directory on any drive accept the c:\program Files (X86) it will not accept any other directory on any drive. And I have a small c drive and would Like to get aol to install into another directory on a different drive other than the one I have windows 10 on. And the same for google chrome.

The AOL and Chrome browser take up maybe 1GB total. Those are relatively tiny.

If you're close to the space limit on that SSD, you have other things sucking up that space.
Install and run WinDirStat
Run that, selecting only the C drive.

Post a screencap of the result.
Likely there are a whole lot of other things sucking up that drive space.
A 128GB drive will work, but you have to be very careful about what goes where.
