Transferred hardware to new tower, Video card not being detected

Transferred my Motherboard, GPU, and CPU to a new tower. The only thing that's different, aside from the case, is the hard drive, which is bare at the moment. For some reason, when I turn the computer on, the monitor says there are no VGA or DVI devices detected, and it goes to sleep (orange light).

The GPU, Monitor, and DVI cable have all three been tested on another rig, and all worked fine. The GPU was also tested in the second pci-e slot on the motherboard. GPU is firmly seated, 6Pin power plug is firmly inserted into the GPU. Also, the motherboard does not have integrated graphics, so I am unable to test it in that way.

Any help on the topic would be greatly appreciated, as I've been searching the internet for a few days now trying to find a resolution to my problem.

GPU: Radeon HD6850, and
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 920

Make sure the motherboard is not shorting to the case, a lack of or incorrectly placed standoffs can cause that.

Is there a way I can check this with a multimeter, or should I just take the system apart and put it back together?

Take it apart basically make sure you are only using standoffs where the screw holes are.

Eliminated that as a possibility. I removed the motherboard, determined that all nine standoffs were in use, and then hooked up thr motherboard outside of the case, still the same issue.

There is the possibility that the board did not survive the transfer. Try resetting BIOS and if you have a board/case speaker check for beep codes staring with just board and CPU and board and CPU power connected.

How do I tell which BIOS beep code chart to follow? The only beep I get is one short beep, which on most of the lists seems to determine no problem.

Did you try with just CPU? Should beep, then add the ram and it should still beep because no GPU. If those beeps do not happen then the board is faulty.

I do get one beep with just the CPU+Mobo, and one beep after adding the RAM back in.

Those are not correct beeps unless it is the no keyboard but you have no monitor http://support.asus.com/pcassistant/pdf/BeepTable_en-us.pdf You might want to check the manual for your board.

The manual also says if I clean the contact and try it again and it doesn't work that I need a new videocard. Which is clearly not the case, since the card works fine in another board. That's why I jumped on here for help, I was on hold for ASUS support earlier today for 40 minutes, and then the call just ended.

Not sure where the beep is coming from, if it's not the correct indicator I'm looking for.

I'm going to try to get my hands on an older videocard from somewhere and testing that out.

Without ram you should get 1 short 2 long!

Ok, so the beep I was hearing was coming from my harddrive, not the motherboard. I found an external mobo speaker, and plugged it in. With my RAM missing, I get the 1 long 2 short pattern. With no GPU I get no beep.

Just tried it with the GPU installed, still no beep.

If you get no beep without the GPU the board is not recognizing it is missing, meaning the board is faulty. Last chance is try resetting BIOS (remove battery for 30sec) and try again without card.
