Hello all. I currently have a 1TB WD Blue drive that I use for storage, mostly games (storage only, my OS is on a Samsung 250GB SSD) . I am purchasing a 2TB WD Black now that I am running short on space on my 1TB Blue. Since I see that WD Black's are supposed to be faster and more reliable, I want to transfer the data from my Blue to my new Black drive, and just use the blue for C: Drive backups and overflow storage. Would this be as simple as Copy/Paste through file explorer? Or will I run into trouble with sector alignment? (I am not too knowledgeable on partition and sectors). So the main question is, what is the best way to transfer data to my new drive? Thank you.

Solution
The difference is very small and not worth worrying about.

But yes, you should be able to just copy and paste.

Sector alignment is only an issue when creating the partitions in the first place.
