A "980 Pro" is not a Corsair. It is a Samsung.so i have a old m.2 ssd..soi bought acorsair 980 pro...problem is i have no clur how to transfer the data OS and whatnot from the old m.2 to the new 980..my mobo had 2 m.2 slots..ideas?>

Oh...you're moving to a whole new motherboard?it's Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB (SSD) and almost 120gb....the mobo i'm going to use for the build is ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard..
Do NOT think about moving to Win 11 yet.Best way to do that..I'm would like to move to win 11..
No.so can't just put both drives in ,load win 10 then reset and redo a clean copy of win 10 but point it taward the faster nvme?
That is covered in my previous reply.so can i just get a usb mdia for win 10 apply tht to the new drive?...sorry i ask so much
I have no idea what you're asking here.so i think i'm better off um buiilding doing the win 10 process then rebuilding.. idk
Transferring the license key is completely different than the OS and operation.i'm halfway done on the new build...so it sounds like i have to rebuild the old system pull the key then build the old one....
Read this.so not caring about data..can i put the new drive in and run a windows media botable in...
Whichever drive you want the OS to be on....that is the ONLY drive you have physically connected.so i got the old computer running...only to find out the account was already joined tro that acount....alsoBefore you begin the installation, whether now or after you create your installation media, it is of utmost importance that you disconnect ALL system attached storage drives EXCEPT for the target drive. This is important because we've seen instances where the system has decided to install one or more of the created partitions including the boot, EFI or recovery partitions on secondary drives making it impossible to boot (Or recover) Windows if that secondary drive is removed. ...so i have 2 drives m.2,hdd. i woud just leave the m.2 out and only have the HDD hooked in? then rub the sintall media?
So then this:it's 980 pro it's only 250gb but it's enough for me i have a 3tb black for anything large
