Transferring pictures from a basic Samsung cellphone .

Hello,
what are the steps and requirements to transfer pictures from my Samsung cellphone to my windows xp computer (connection Sympatico dial up)

Are the pictures stored on internal memory or a micro SD card? Have you tried connecting the phone to the computer via a USB cable? Hard to give a definitive answer without knowing the model of phone.
