Transferring Product Key

Solution

BestBuy, Win 8, preinstalled.
That is an OEM license.

And as such, not transferable to new hardware.

Solution? Sell the old PC with the OS. Use that to fund an OS for your new PC.
You can reactivate on a new machine if its OEM. Though if you want keep it from being blacklisted (Can't activate) you should only keep one machine with it running at a time. This is all through my personal experience, and it does technically say you can't do this per Microsoft's license agreement if you have an OEM key.

There is no 'should only'.
1 license, 1 PC.

And OEM is tied to that original motherboard, except under specific circumstances, like the actual motherboard breaking.

In any case...it is all up to Microsoft.

It was pre installed on this computer and I got the free windows 10 upgrade, Would it be possible for me to to download windows 10 onto a flash drive and use the product key thats on this computer because i dont feel like paying for a new os..

No.
That is tied to that original PC.
And even if you could, that PC now has no OS.

Well...the license validation is all up to whoever you talk to at MS.
But BestBuy + preinstalled generally equals an OEM license.
Unless you did something slecial.

Again...transferal is ALL up to MS.
