I ordered new hardware - motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD, and plan to install it. I understand that after changing the hardware Windows won't be activated. Can I transfer the activation and upgrade to Windows 11, and if so, how?
I looked online, but am not sure about it. Here is what my Windows 10 shows:
In settings/activation it says "Windows is activated with a digital license"
Running "slmgr /dli" shows: "RETAIL channel" and a small part of a key.
Running "wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey" doesn't show any key.
I don't have the original key. I think it was also for an earlier version, that got a free upgrade to Windows 10. I am now checking if I can find the original key.
