I am leaving soon to college and i just don't want to leave my pc at home. What would be the best way to transport it without damaging the components? I have invested my savings in buying new components so that i can play the newest games maxed out and now i just don't know what to do.

Solution
The only thing you might want to remove is a LARGE air cooler.

PC's are shipped all over the world, every day, with HDD, RAM, and all the other bits still installed.

Do you still have the original box the case came in?
Hi
The only thing you really need to watch is if you have a big air cpu cooler as the weight hanging off the motherboard can cause problems.
If you are transporting it by car then it is best to lay the case on its side with the motherboard side on the bottom so the cooler will be vertically upwards.
If you are transporting by any other means then it is best to remove the cooler completely and pack it seperately.

Transporting it by car is not really an option, so i think i will have to rely on a post company to take it. I heard that they do crazy things to the packages when you send them, so i dont really kow how to go on. If i take out the video card and the hard disk and pack them up separateely in their cases, is it ok to ship the rest ?

If you are posting it then yes you want to remove any cards and HDDs also the cpu cooler and if you have RAM sticks with heatsinks you should also remove them.
Then you will need to package the case up really well,so that it can survive a 6 foot drop onto concrete.
Also get some silica gel packages and put them inside your case to mitigate any humidity problems.

Yes, I still have it. Is it enogh if I put the whole machine inside the case and then isolate it with that white poliester thing ? I hear that they usually don't take care of the good when they ship them, so won't falling and shaking damage the components inside ?

The life of a PC, from construction to your living room:
Factory -> conveyor belt -> forklift -> warehouse -> forklift -> truck -> forklift -> shipping container -> ship -> ocean -> big giant forklift thing to grab the shipping container -> ground -> forklift -> truck - warehouse -> forklift -> truck -> Newegg warehouse -> forklift -> truck -> distro warehouse -> forklift -> truck -> local UPS center -> forklift -> truck all day in the summer heat (or winter cold) -> USP guy drops it (literally) on your porch.

And you're worried about a couple of miles in the back of the car?

(I probably left out a couple of steps in there)

It survived the shipping, it will survive your gentle handling.
