transporting my brand new desktop

so in a month ill go back to my country by plain, and i have my brand new gaming desktop which i dont wana take in the plain cause im afraid it will get broken, can anyone tell me the easiest and safest way to transport my pc from coventry, uk to portugal?

remove heatsink and gpu, also psu put it on a decent cardboardbox and cover it with foam, like this

the gpu can go with you on your bags

you could leave the psu installed if your case is sturdy enough, the gpu and heatsink are heavy so i would remove them and put it on another place, even perhaps the same cardboard of the pc case but in the original box or at least packaged in a antistatic bag or bubblewrapp bag of some sort, same for the heatsink, but that one can get bent, so try to put it in his original box

If you do not take it on the plane then your only other bet is to ship it. Have you ever shipped stuff from the UK to Portugal? It sounds expensive and your only other option. If you have a big heavy air cooler as a heat sink you must remove that before transport. Id put it in a big suitcase and surround it with clothes and check it.

so i take the gpu and the heatsink and take it in the original boxes in my handbag and i cover the case with foam inside and outside of it and take it into the plain bigger bag?

i wouldn't fill the inside of the case with foam, not necesary, only the cardboardbox with foam, then put the pc inside

you can put the gpu in the bac and inside your bag with clothes but the heatsing must go in a case, it can get bent and damaged

on some countries they will use x - ray on your handbags, the gpu could make them force you open the bag to see what it is so be prepared for that and be patient
