Trash fps with a 2009 game

So S.T.A.L.K.E.R call of pripyat is one of my favourite games of all time and i still play it till this day but i just recently bought a gtx 1050ti and maxed out the game settings it looked that i was getting about 60 frames stable at first but when stuff got intense frames easily droped and i was quite surprised bcoz of that since i have above the recommended System for this game

my cpu is a intel duo e8500 overclocked to 3.6ghz
and i have 4gb of ram
if its any help aswell i have windows 8 and im using 1080p resoluition

sounds like your old CPU is causing too much of a bottleneck for the 1050ti

Cpu is holding you down. Also more ram will help.

Is your CPU getting maxed out.

As above people noticed, your CPU might be a bottleneck plus you don't have a whole lot of system ram. Your GPU is more than fine for that game.

What OS are you using?

What are your RAM, CPU, and GPU utilization percentages? While you may meet or exceed minimum specifications, a newer OS and background tasks can have a huge impact, especially with a dual-core CPU not capable of hyper-threading. Your game is old enough that as long as specs are met, it should have no issues on its own.

Recommended System Requirements

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 / AMD 64 X2 5600+
2 GB RAM.
512 MB DirectX ® 9.0c compatible card / nVIDIA ® GeForce™ 9800 GTX / ATI Radeon™ HD 4850.

That leaves basically what I stated.... your OS and other apps/tasks are using more RAM and resources... Bumping up to 8GB and a faster/newer CPU can help greatly there.

STALKER is notoriously buggy and unoptimised also. The bottleneck is probably the main issue, but you will find that STALKER will drop frames and crash a lot on even the best of systems.

Check out some mods and tweaks for it.....I found this thread on the ModDB forums regarding performance tweaks.Misery mod performance boost

Some of the larger mods have addressed tons of problems and things that affect the game on more modern systems.
