Hi.

I have a couple of Imou Cruiser CCTV cameras set up and running through Imou's phone App - all works well. I'd like to have the option of PC monitoring and recording too, if possible (by 'possible', I mean easy to do...)

I've downloaded the above software from the MS Store, as it mentions Dahua cameras - the maker of Imou.

The cameras connect via 2.4GHz WiFi, and my PC via an Ethernet cable. Running Windows 11.

Could anyone assist in filling out the following 'add camera' page, please? (Assuming that is 'all' that's required...) Thanks.

It all depends on how the camera works.

Key here is does it function without a internet connection. A lot of cameras like ring or nest send all the data into the cloud.

I will ignore my temptation to rant on that subject.

The cameras I have can either directly push the data to a NAS type device or support a industry standard method of access. I use a software package called blueiris to record and view them.
My cameras data never leaves my house.

I have no idea how the software you are looking at works. It says it is DVR viewer. A DVR in general is some type of pc or other device in your house that records the cameras. This is the function I use a pc running the blueiris software. Problem is ever DVR is slightly different.

Now if like I strongly suspect all your data is somewhere on the internet and not on a device in your house it is hard to say if that software can access it. It all depends on where the data is being stored. Many of these internet based cameras only function with the apps the company that makes the camera. This is even more true is there is some kind of monthly fee you must pay. They want to trap you into having to use their services and pay money to actually use the camera you paid for.

Thanks, all.

It's a IMOU CruiserSE+ - https://store.imou.com/en-uk/products/cruiser-se-2c-3mp-4mp-uk

It uses a built-in micro SD card to record footage, overwriting every couple of weeks, connects to WiFi via 2.4GHz, displays a live image and sound on a phone via the Imou Life App, and gives immediate access to the SD recording for the recording duration. It has an optional - and paid for - cloud-based storage, which I don't use.

I've just discovered under 'Tools', 'LAN Line' - "Realize video live by LAN tool. Make sure device and mobile phone are on the same LAN or connected to hotspot" And it gives an IP address for the camera, and a Port No.

Ooooh, about to experiment :)
