Tribes 2 problem

Anyone having the faintest bl***y clue what and Unhandelled exception is.
I downloaded the T2 demo, 79 MB's on a modem, you should see the mess they're making over rolling out ADSL in Blighty.
So, rubbing my hands with glee I start install and launch the .exe instead I get a message:
Unhandled Exception : c0000094
At Address: 03da7-03

I know hex when it see it, and obviously something seems to be getting lost in the memory. The point is what can I do about it.

384 Mb RAm
TNT2 Ultra
Win 2k, upgraded from Win 98

Not sure about the demo, but the full version has a TON of patches. It's really insane. If I were you I would either/or/and try patches and cracks and see if that fixes the problem.

It's going to suck being on a modem with all the patches, so try a crack first.
