before Halo, there was Tribes
Tribes introduced vehicle combat, armor classes, deploy-able items, skiing and SHAZBOT!

It would be the other way around if anything. Starsiege Tribes came out in 1998 and Halo came out in 2001. Sad to say but alot of the people playing games today probably weren't old enough when the original tribes came out to remember it. That was the year I got a Celeron 300 MHz CPU and overclocked it to an amazing 450 MHz. I have been waiting along time and hoping true Tribes game play wasn't dead forever. Tribes 1 and 2 were awesome games (vengeance dropped the ball). I hope they have integrated or will allow Renegades and shifter mods as those 2 were by far the best. Tom if you have any pull at all with them please tell Hi-Rez Studios that one of the things that made tribes great was the ability to have the mods and custom maps. Different people like a little bit different styles of game play and weapons, armor and tactics. Mods, mods, mods!!!

I played the original Tribes and it was one of the best games ever. You can have combat mid air with your jetpack.

tribes is one of the best games ive ever played, requires more communication and teamwork than any game out there. i advise playing if the dev's listen to people it will be a good mix and not another T:V

I've been looking forward to this for a long time. Vengeance was a big disappointment. I would probably still be playing Tribes 2 if they'd ever figured out how to get rid of the "Unhandled Exception Error" that plagued me when I played it. Here's hoping there is a Houston Vehicles server.
