Tribunal Mercenary Problem

I hired a mercenary and used him in the shrine quest. After I cleared out
the last room I used recall and the mercenary was left behind. I then went
back and tried to get him to follow me on foot back to above ground, but he
won't budge...any suggestions or is he lost to AI?

Did you give him too much stuff to carry? Check his load, if he's got
too much weight in his inventory he'll just stand there.
Once his load is below his capacity, talk to him and ask him to follow
you - he should.
