I've been trying to upgrade my motherboard for a while now, I've been using an old M5A87 motherboard for the past 3 years and had no problems - until I upgraded and tried overclocking my FX 8320. It would never support any overclocks, it would barely run the cpu itself. So I tried upgrading my motherboard.

I got the SABERTOOTH 990fx r2.0, installed it correctly but couldn't get any video. Everything was installed correctly, no malfunctioning hardware since it was running 30 mins earlier on the M5A87. I've been told that I need to flash my motherboard's BIOS to support the cpu, which I've tried. I can't be sure if I did it correctly but I still had no response. So I thought it was the motherboard, I returned it and got a later model, (Between this time I reinstalled the M5A87 and had no problem) I then got the Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0. I received that today, installed everything but I have the same problem, no display.

I'm unsure what the problem could be, soooooooooo... Any ideas?

Here's my current system:

CPU - AMD FX 8320
GPU - Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280x
PSU - Corsiar TX 650w
RAM - 8GB Corsair Vengeance

2 motherboards and a month later I found out that my problem was... I didn't push the ram in far enough 😛 Haha, well. I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight. Thanks for the help
