I build my PC one year ago, but it has been having random blue-screen crashes since the start, I took it to warranty, the first time the repair guy said RAM wasn't installed properly. And since the crash occur after 30min-4hr of running, there was no way for me to check if it was really solved.

Later found out that the problem wasn't resolved, but I didn't have time to take it to repair, and the PC was just lying idle for 1 year.

Recently, I took it to a different computer repair shop, this time they said the problem was thermal paste and they applied a new one.

But the problem still persisted, I got very frustrated with this problem, I have never been able to use this PC since I built it, then I looked at the motherboard and saw the pins INTRD and IRAPT, shown below

I connected this connector from PSU to the board

But since I did that, motherboard doesn't start at all. It shows the Green light, but CPU fan or any other fan don't work.

I noticed the PSU fan was also not spinning, this was the stock PSU.

So, I read up on similar posts forums, If only I found this forum earlier, and read that random Blue-screen crash are often caused by bad PSU, and i thought I might have damaged my PSU with this wrong connection (since PSU fan was not spinning)

So I purchaser Corsair PSU and just installed it. But the motherboard is still not starting up, the green light turns on, but CPU fan never turns.

Can anyone please help with this problem? or do I need to take it to repair shop again? but the last 2 times, taking it to repair shop was a massive waste of time & money which also made me very frustrated & lead me to try this stupid idea.

Motherboard is Intel DH55TC

Solution
the INTRD and IRAPT pins on your motherboard 'must' be for infra red (on my mainboard intel dh67bl it is)

you do not need to connect any power connector to them. it must have somehow damaged your mainboard and also your psu you have to get it repaired.
i am afraid your warranty have also been voided.

but since i am not entirely sure, in the mean time you can try using the other components on a different mainboard to be foolproof.

go to this link for details about compatibility:

goodluck :)
Code:
No idea what that port (2 ports actually) on the board is for but certainly it's not a power connector. plugging in a power connector for a floppy drive will have fried it.

New board time for sure, if you are lucky the cpu and ram will be ok but I would get them tested.
