Tried installing new ram, computer wouldnt come on, tried old ram still wont come on, help!

So i just tried to install this HyperX FURY Series 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM stick into my computer and the computer wont load up, monitor just says power saving mode. My motherboard is a MSI H61M-P31 (G3) I had a 4gb stick in before which is called Hyperam 4GB DDR3 1333MHz, when I tried to put that back in the computer still wont come back on. This is my first time trying anything like this so I am a bit lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Try resetting CMOS and going back to the old stick(s). MIght check for a BIOS update, the Fury operate off PnP and many H61 mobos don't have support for it (or even XMP for that matter 😉 ). The Fury use PnP to set themselves automatically

So do you think that this new RAM stick is not compatible with my motherboard? To reset the CMOS do I just take out the circular battery for 5 mins?

Yes and Yes (well unplug the PSU and only need the battery out for a minute or so)

Okay I'll try that, can you recommend any compatible 8GB Ram stick(s)?

Gskill Ripjaws, or Ripjaws X in 1333/9 als their Sniper sticks in 1333/9

Tried removing battery and still no luck, might just give up and put it in a shop.
