If anybody cares...

Went with a friend today to ride his boat up and down the Illinois River,
starting from Ottawa. Going down IL-71, my 4400 briefly had a nervous
breakdown switching between SID 20 and SID 1178 near Newark.

20 is VZW Chicago. 1178 is (guess what?!) Illinois Valley Cellular, as
confirmed by the error message I got when I tried to #646 down there.

I think someone else reported problems with IVC earlier this year or late
last year, no?

I'm not saying I had a problem with it; I wouldn't expect a VZW function
like #646 to work on Extended Network. Actually, they seemed to have better
coverage than VZW does at home.
