What are my options? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to order?
Currently I have 9gb on board but not sure how to upgrade...I want at least 16..
I have a pre-built older hp and from what they document these are the specs:
my set up is hpe 580t.
Per hp Motherboard is ipmtb-tk truckee
Per website scan pegatron 2a86
Core i7-950 (Bloomfield) (130W), 3.0 GHz
Both sources reflect below
Six 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets
Supports PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066) DIMM types
Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
Supports 4 GB DDR3 DIMMs
Supports up to 24 GB on 64-bit PCs
Also cannot find a manual anywhere on the order they need to be. I've read here that often there aren't manuals for hp motherboards.
So first am I correct in assuming that can I only put a max 4gb in each slot? I can't do higher than that in one slot?
2nd do I have to buy 3 and how should I go about doing that?I pretty much can't find any sets of three that meet the specs described above and really can't find alot of individual... So am I sol? Because as far I know it has to be ddr3 dimm, and 1066 and non ecc...
As far as I can tell not sure if I have to upgrade in sets up 3 only when it seems the majority are in sets of 2.
To make it more confusing per their website there was an option on the same pc for memory choices of the following :8 GB (4 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (messaged as PC3-8500)
9 GB (2 x 4 GB, 1 x 1 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (messaged as PC3-8500)
12 GB (6 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (messaged as PC3-8500)
16 GB (4 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (messaged as PC3-8500)
18 GB (3 x 4 GB, 3 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (messaged as PC3-8500)
24 GB (6 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 (messaged as PC3-8500)
Does this mean I can use that as benchmark for what memory configurations my motherboard can take?
