I finally pulled trigger and purchased a 144hz monitor (specifically the Asus VG248QE 24 inch) that's coming in tomorrow. This finally puts me at 3 monitors with two other 2 other Asus 23.6 inch 60hz IPS (I'm sure I could find the model number if I really need to but didn't think it was necessary) monitors to put on each side. I'm still kind of up in the air as far as gaming with the three monitors because if I researched correctly I wouldn't be able to game in 144hz with the single monitor and then 60hz with the two outside monitors but instead I would have to game in 60hz across all three monitors (you can correct me if I'm wrong).

Anyways here's my question. I have a two foot wide desk and after pulling the desk away from the wall a little bit for cable management I will be roughly about 30-32 inches from the middle monitor. How much do I need to angle the two outside monitors whether I want to game on them or not (I don't think it would matter...if it does then my primary game of choice is CS:GO)?

Also do I need to have it it to where the edge of the outside monitors are just inside my peripheral vision?

Solution
it's more personal preference and hardware limitations that will determine the best angle. You might have to play with the angles a bit to get what you consider a sweet spot. Looking at my current triple setup I would say my outside monitors are at about a 30 to 35 degree angle from the primary middle monitor so that might be a good starting point for you.

I can't say for sure on the 144Hz question but I believe you would have to be at the same refresh rate or it would cause problems. So you would be at 60Hz on all three monitors. There may be more advance settings in the control panel, catalyst, etc. Depending on your setup.

Thanks for helping out Mr Soup. One more quetion. And this might go under personal preference as well but I figure I'd ask anyways. When angling the outside monitors should I have it to where the outside edge of each monitor is aligned with the edge of my peripheral vision? Or should I not be able to see that much or the screens because you want to be 'immersed' in the game/movie/etc.

Thanks again for the reply!
