Triple monitor dilema

I have just got a new (new to me anyway) desk. And it is huge so it's time for some extra monitors. I am currently using an ASUS VE228 monitor which I have had for about 3 years now. It is a 21.5" monitor which kind of feels a little bit small by itself on the new desk. I am sitting about 3 feet away from it. I'm considering getting another two of these monitors or the newer model of them as they are only about £80 here in the UK. My question is though will I notice a big difference between two new screens and one 3 year old screen? Will the quality have degraded a lot over the past three years.

If there will be a big difference I'd consider selling it and getting three brand new screens probably at 23 or 24 inches.

Another piece of information I've been looking for is what are peoples views when it comes to bezel size? Does it matter to you? Do you have a maximum size you would settle for? The reason I am asking is because my current monitor has 1.5cm bezels which I would overlap and I have no idea if this is a normal size for bezels or not.

Depends on your budget really. 21.5" is so small for gaming so for starters, i'd recommend at least replacing that.

You can pickup a good 1080p 24" monitor cheap. At that point, decide if you want three displays or not and if you do, get the same ones. To me, bezel thickness doesn't matter because even though I have three monitors, I only game on 1 - I don't do surround or eyefinity. If you're going to try and game on three monitors, and you have the GPU horsepower to do so, then bezel size will be important.

I'll probably only be using the three monitors for racing games and simulators. It is mainly for productivity when I am programming. I would consider buying one 24" monitor then adding more as and when I have the money. I have a GTX 770 2GB version so I'm not expecting to be able to run new games on all three monitors. I would like to be able to have other things open whilst I am playing though.

Sounds like a plan. For racing games, get a monitor with the lowest response time and highest refresh rate possible for your budget.

I do the same thing - game on my middle monitor and have other things open on the other two for productivity. I'm thinking about doing surround on some games though.
