I am thinking about getting three 27inch monitors and rotating them for portrait mode. For my work, portrait mode would be ideal. Then for gaming, eyefinity would be fun. Anyone know of a stand or wall mount that would work for this?

I am trying to do the same thing. Going to get 3 of the same 27inch korean IPS monitors and mount them in portrait mode. The problem with all the above is either:
A) They do not support 27 inch monitors
B) They are not available

Right now I cannot find anything out there that is an acceptable option. Most stands will only take monitors less than 26in.

I did find this:
http://www.ergolcd.com/Ergotech-Apex-Triple-900-F20-B03.html
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ergotech-Group-900-F20-B03-Apex-Triple-Multi-system-/230894688245

But I really don't find it necessary for the monitor stand to be almost as valuable as the monitors themselves.

An additional complication for me is that I have a L shaped workspace so the monitors will be centered on a corner, so the edge clamp versions will not work for me. I'd rather have a freestanding version, but I will drill holes and mount on the surface if I have too.

Looking at the measurements of some of these models that are rated for LCDs <27 inch, there is just enough space on the bar to mount in portrait mode, but sometimes the bottom edge of the monitor will be nearly sitting on the desk or worse.

Due to the increasing popularity of triple displays, someone out there is using a decent stand. Can anyone share?

3 months late, but look at CallsignVega on youtube..there'll be a link to the forum where he describes how he got 3 30inch monitors into portrait.

I ended up putting mine on this when It was available for some time:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NPEC5A/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_ETZSsb0FHR0GN61Q

The weight of the monitors is above the max weight rated in the info for the stand but it works. They seem a bit too heavy, so its best to mount to the desk using the bolt included rather then just setting it on the surface, but that works too. It also helps to have two people to set them up, because as soon as you put the second one on, it falls over without the weight of the 3rd to balance it.

I had to jerry rig some things my self, but I wasn't about to spend $200 haha, so I got these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DGTP57A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3W3STWCK1O3NR

$40 a piece, but they're holding my 3 39inch monitors in portrait quite nicecly.
