I am planning to build my first pc in the coming months, once I've saved up enough. I have the part list sorted, but am now thinking about monitors. I will be using a triple monitor setup using the below monitor.

I will be using a single MSI GTX 970, and while I know there are other versions available, I prefer the MSI for the TwinFrozr cooling.

Will this single car be able to run these three monitors. for the most part, they will be being used for productivity with things such as AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom. As for gaming, the only games to be used are Euro truck Simulator, with high settings, and Assetto Corsa.

I would love to get a MSI GTX 980, but my budget just does not stretch that far, which too puts SLI out of the question.

Solution

Depends on the game and how you how settings. Check this thread.

Solution

Yeah it would work, however the performance should depend on what settings you have the games on.

A 970 can handle 3 screens no problem. Gaming while having it on 3 screens will be a bit taxing. Only 3.5gb of VRAM to deal with is going to be a pain. If you can fork out another 100, go with an EVGA 980 they are going pretty cheap.

ORRRR.

Wait till the new GTX series comes out and wait for prices to drop.

In the thread I shared the other person is using a 290 which is about the same level as a 970 and on certain games they have to turn settings down but it runs fine TBH.

Looking now at the euro truck sim 2 forum, others have askes about this game with triple monitors and this GPU, and have all said that this is such a light game for graphics, that it can handle it ok.

While is know about other cards out there, as I originally stated, the MSI is my preferred choice, because of its better cooling solution. (TwinFrozr). I could wait for the new series, but then id have to wait even longer. I've been planning this first pc build for the past five years, and now feel its time to get on with the damn thing. (I have of course updated my parts list somewhat). I think given that the most pressing game that will be played will be Euro truck sim, that has quite basic graphics anyway it will be fine, and for use with productivity, I see no great strain here either. So I feel that it should be ok. Thanks for your opinion though.
