Steadily melting SSD prices. Almost difficult to imagine that only two years ago, 1TB 4.0x4 drives were still somewhat of a luxury. Now, you can get some pretty good ones for ~$50/TB.

I unfortunately am not able to wait for newegg shipping, so I went with Amazon for about $5 more. I have too much storage now, Makes me wish they made 4tb in a lot of these flavors (Solidigm doesn't make 4tb, only their data center products.

Too bad I'm full up on storage.

6x SSDs in my main system, 1TB each.
All the other house systems are also SSD only.

When any of the drive get somewhat tight on space, offload older stuff to the 95+TB NAS space.

I hear ya, id get me the x44 pro if it was made in 4TB. But a 2TB as an upgrade to my 2TB doesn't make sense. The extra speed over the current x41 I have in 2TB isn't worth it without more capacity too.
