troubeshooting search

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics (More info?)

i am not able to open the search companion. i have tried re -installing the
srchasst.inf file in the root//windows/inf folder even then i am no able to
open the search companion. is there ary way to reinstall the whole search
companion pls help me out. thenks
