Trouble booting from USB on the Maximus Vi Formula

I have built a new system, and i have the Maximus formula vi mobo. I'm trying to install windows 7 from USB and somehow i can't; in bios i selected boot priority to UEFI usbname but once i restart it goes to a black screen for a few seconds with the prompt just blinking and then going back to bios. I've also tried to go into 'ez mode' and simply boot from the usbname without the UEFI in front of it. The USB is fat 32 format with the contents of the extracted windows 7 iso. Any ideas?

How exactly did you prepare that USB?
If you using a genuine Windows, then use a tool called Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool
