Hi guys I'm looking to massively boost my pc performance for gaming. My main game is world of warcraft but occasionally I play other games like battlefield 1 and I'm interested in star wars battlefront 2 which is releasing later this year.

Currently I have a budget of about £650 so I need help deciding what to upgrade. Should I upgrade my CPU first, my GPU? Also what would you recommend as replacements? I was looking at a skylake 6th gen i5 cpu but it would cost me a lot of money to upgrade to i5 because I have to replace motherboard, ram and operating system.

My specs:

Sapphire r9 270x 2gb
amd fx 6300 3700 mhz
8gb ddr3 ram
GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard
WD 1tb hdd 7200 rpm
Corsair VS450w PSU
Windows 7 home premium

Thanks<3

I would grab myself 16gb of ddr4, a b350 pro4 board and a ryzen 3 1200, overclock to 4ghz. If you have money left over, grab a 1060 6gb/580 8gb. Your 6300 is getting seriously outdated and bad in gaming. Seriously, my i5 out Performs it. A platform switch is the most viable option right now. £650 is a pretty good amount of money, you could go for a ryzen 5. I'm not in your country, so you'll wanna take a look at prices but grabbing yourself a ryzen cpu and gtx card is probably your best option. Hope I helped!

personally, ive always liked upgrading my cpu first, bc then i can decide on the right gpu, if i were u i wouldnt buy intel right now, not bc they arent good but bc the upgrade path is pretty shitty. Get a am4 b350 motherboard, itll cost around 80-100 and then get either a r3 1200 or a r5 1400 as ur cpu. this will only cost u around 250 for a mobo and cpu combo if u choose this path. id pick the r5 1400 if i were u tho, 4 core 8 threads at 150, and overclockable, u cant beat it. and amd is sticking with am4 socket for atleast the next 3-4 years. as a gpu, well ur not playing bvery demanding titles, but if i were u id look for a gtx 970 , its an older card but is still quite powerful and is better than a 1050 ti. i picked one up for 170. also what [ower supply do u have?

I have a corsair vs450 sorry forgot to add that:)

Thankyou for the advice I will look into ryzen cpus:)

oh ya i frogt to add ram into the mix, u will need ddr4 ram

yea dont worry i got that covered, I was just wondering if I might need to upgrade my psu?

yes i would def upgrade the cpu if u plan on getting a stronger gpu down the line, maybe like a 600 gold certified power supply. u can probably get away with a 550 watt but i always like to get a bit more to insure ill have enouhg lol
