I am kinda leaning towards getting myself an SSD (yes i am behind the ball curve)

I am thinking of getting the Crucial M4 due to reliability, If someone can suggest something else and give good reasons as to way i should step away from the M4 i would gladly like to hear them. (i know the M4 is slow)

IMHO, speed is NOT the reason to invest in an SSD. Reliability is much more important and the M4 is superior. The only time you will notice the extra speed (in daily use) is booting and program launch. After a few days you won't notice it at all. A bargain isn't what you pay it's what you get. You already chose the best. Now you're looking at the cheapest. Pick your criteria.

If money isn't an issue I don't understand why you ever got distracted by a cheaper SSD. Selling a used one sounds like a good idea but I doubt you'll get anything for it. I'd never buy a used one. Just use it for something non mission critical.

I just dont want to throw 300+ into an SSD,

Ok after some talking with a local Big Name computer store they have told me not to go near the Vertex 4 due to RMA, and to go with either M4 or an Adata S500 series

^Agreed. I haven't decided about AData because I had one die on me, but I don't think I'd risk OCZ after all the tales of woe I've read about them. I have a Samsung 830, and it has been great. In your place, I'd choose the Corsair, or check out Samsung or Intel.
