Help!

I had a PC build lined up (£600 ex. CPU and RAM as my friend was giving me a spare one he had) however I am now under pressure as the parts need to be delivered by the 19th July (20th at a strech). My friend went away for a week so I had no idea what it was until yesterday - the i7-3960X. I really need a suitable motherboard as cheap as possible as the £200-£300 ones coming up are far too expensive.

Full specs:

Intel Core i7 3960X
? CPU Cooler
Zotac GeForce GTX 970 - £250 @ Amazon
? Mobo
8GB RAM - Gifted
Samsung 250GB SSD - £75 @ Amazon
WD Blue - £40 @ Amazon
CiT Vanquish Case - £32 @ cclonline
? PSU (I meed to know the wattage)

Any help is appreciated so much :)

no problem heres some good uk sites

overclockers.co.uk

ebuyer--if you need it in a hurry can order till 11pm and still get it next day

aria.co.uk

scan.co.uk---for a 1st time builder this would be my reccomendation--they offer a cheap insurance on your purchase

should you damage it installing it they replace it--think a lot more companies should do it

Thanks. I was familiar with Scan and Ebuyer, maybe Overclockers a little...

Thing is he's also giving me the RAM, however I'm relatively sure that it is DDR3 RAM. I'm in a bit of a pickle as with a suitable motherboard, I'd need DDR4, however it doesn't leave room in my budget for buying DDR4 RAM. I've had a quick look but do you have any idea?

Once again, thanks here :) You're going well above and beyond what I'd expect of anyone

yeah you need ddr4

another option of course would to ebay that cpu and go for socket 1150 instead of 2011/x99

though since your friend gave you the cpu i wouldnt suggest that option with out asking them first

its a great cpu but the socket 2011 components as you found are more expensive

Well 200~300 quids is plenty for a motherboard. Any X79 board is pretty solid!
