I am going to re-format my PC (windows XP) and was trying to download the drivers ahead of time and I can't seem to find any. Through ASUS' website I found .rom files but from what I understand those can only be used in the BIOs menu. Can anyone help me find where to get the latest ones?

Great thanks, will this configure my USB ports?

My issue is I have a Zebra thermal printer that will not work on my PC, I keep getting print errors, but when I try it on a buddys PC it works fine, which makes me think it has something to do with my motherboard.

I wouldn't go about formatting and reinstalling, most of the driver sites are no longer listing much of anything before 2003, better to solve the printer issue. You just might need XP drivers for the printer, if they are available.

Ther Zebra thermal Printer only requires a Parallel, USB 1.1 or RS-232 serial ports.
Don't use the RS-232 serial port, it relies on a certain rail that some PSU no longer include, specifically the ATX models.

The best resolution they suggest is 800 x 600.

thanks, glad I don't have to reformat. I just don't get why the printer is working fine on one pc and not the other. My PC is more up to date hardware wise and we are both using XP. I have installed every driver I can find for the zebra printer and still no luck on my PC, that is why I think it might have something to do with my drivers.
One thing I did notice today is when I run dxdiag it say N/A for system manufacturer, BIOs and system model. Does that mean I dont have the correct drivers set up for my motherboard?

I don't know 🙁 but I think that it refers to your version of XP, I'm not absolutely sure but I think the Home edition does not list the information whereas the XP Professional does list the information in the Registry where DXdiag retrieves it.

Ask him what resolution he has set for his PC then you use the same setting.
I don't think it's about the PC, it's the Zebra printer and your settings as compared to your friend.
I think you need to talk with your friend and use his settings for the resolution, the text size and whatever else.

There is a driver update that you may want to consider (for the Zebra) -
The Zebra Designer Driver replaced the Zebra Universal Driver and is now the Recommended driver available

Is the printer connected by USB?

Yes the printer is using a parallel cable with a usb end to the computer. The printer is using the same settings on both computers and both are running the same OS. Do you not think it is an issue with my computer? It just doesn't make sense that it works perfectly on the lesser machine and on mine it just won't communicate properly. As I stated before it worked for about a year and now it just won't.

One thing I did notice on my computer is I don't think the USB slots are configured properly. When I copy files onto my thumb drive it takes a whole lot longer than it should and the computer alerts me that this device can preform faster in a usb 2.0 slot. How do I go about updating those? Thanks for the continued help!
