im having trouble getting my gpu to work. when i plug in to it and turn on the computer it tells me to please power down and connect the pcie power cables for this graphics card.

the way i have it plugged in now is with 1 vga psu cable. and the lights and at least 1 fan seem to be working on it.

so do i need to use the 2 cables that came with the gpu and plug them into 2 different vga cables from the psu?

Solution

all pcie plugs a card has must be populated

if your power supply does not have the proper pcie cables to plug into the card

then you need a new power supply with the proper cables

dont use adapters

yes, connect the 6+2 pcie cables directly to the card
