Specs: CPU - r5 3600 ---> r7 5800x GPU
  • EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra
  • MAG B550 Tomahawk
  • G.Skill RipJaws V Series (2x8)(DDR4 3600) ---> G.Skill Trident Z NEO Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) (DDR4 3600)
  • Corsair RM750x Gold 80 plus

As the title states. Upgraded my cpu about a month and half ago, been having memory issues since. I was able to reliably get 3600mhz speeds on my old specs, but after I upgraded to my new cpu my memory couldn't get to anything above 2933 without boot/post failure, which then required a CMOS reset to get back into bios. Decided to get a new ram kit, one that has been tried and true with my specs, the same problem still persists. I'm suspecting a bad mem controller (maybe?) and while im fine living with 2933mhz, I would like to try some things to get to the advertised speeds.

Could the bios be a possible issue as well? Before I upgraded, I updated the bios to its newest version which was in August of this year. My board was running on a 2020 version, which had no problems with getting my ram to run at 3600. ¯\(ツ)
