Tried to install boxed Crysis 2 to win7 64 bit.

It seemed to load fine, but there was no icon on desk top. The download manager shortcut was on desk top, but couldn't load it, saying it couldn't locate it.

Eventually found Crysis 2 under the windows "game" and wouldn't load it saying;

"Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files(x86) electronic arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\Bin 32\activation.exe"

By the way... it prompted me to install "Origin".

I then uninstalled it with "Revo Uninstaller".

Please help with some advice.

Thank you!

You should still have a product key. Try to register the game on Steam or Origin, they're both free to use.

That's not all true depending on where he got it from. I have Crysis 2 ME and added the key thru Steam and can play thru Steam without Origin

But that still doesn't mean that he needs Origin or not. It very possible that his key for that copy can only be used with Origin and not Steam. I just know for my Maximum Edition I used the code in Steam and there it was in my library and can play it using Steam.

Well before Origin there was really just Steam as the really only Digital Store. Then EA decided that they could do the same thing and pulled all other games that weren't already allowed to use Steam Keys. Now you'll never see a EA game on Steam until they figure out that they'll never be better then Steam and more people prefer Steam and it's community and the fact that there's tons of people on Steam then Origin. But if you want to play Madden or Battlefield or what ever you still have to go thru Origin.

EA/Origin will continue no matter what as it's there own developers/company. The only thing it costs them is just the Storage/Store and the digital transactions. However what you won't see are things such at Steam Summer sales. Sure you might see some thing go on sale here and there but not like and how Steam does it.

That was before they brought out Origin. After Origin was released which I think was maybe BF3 no more games that were published by EA were sold on Steam.

To see if you can install it on Steam all you do is activate it like you would on any game thru Steam and it will say Yes or No. If it's No then you either entered it incorrectly and if you didn't then you can only activate it thru Origin.
