Alright so I upgraded my GPU from a 660 ti to a Sapphire r9 290 reference. Everything went well at first. Booted up and I put in the install disk. Started to install driver then no input popped up. I've been doing tons of research and nothing has really helped.

Specs:
I5-4970k processor
Asus 97z-AR motherboard
Evga 16gb 2x8 ram
Sapphire R9 290 reference
Evga 800 bronze psu
Windows 10

So problems I'm having are that when I plug into on board HDMI to troubleshoot my TV (Samsung 40" 1080p plasma) says "Mode not supported". Also for some reason F8 doesn't work on startup to run in Safe Mode.
I then put back in my Evga 660 ti and everything works fine. Ran msconfig and made it reboot into Safe Mode.
Now I'm in Safe Mode with the Sapphire installed on motherboard with all cables connected for sure. I am still plugged into motherboard HDMI.
All old driver are uninstalled so im running fresh but still can't install new drivers for my PC to even recognize it's there. It doesnt show up anywhere.
Ive also tried installing the newsest Catalyst for my system but it wont fully install. My last try at installing didnt get far at all. It gave me an error that said "Detection driver error."

Help please!!!

I could be wrong, but I would put money on the problem being conflicting drivers. Meaning the NVidia drivers were not correctly uninstalled. Unfortunately you cant just uninstall them like you would any other program.

Boot into safe mode, run this utility to uninstall all display drivers: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html then reboot into windows with the 290, install amd drivers and you should be good to go!

Sadly Ive tried that. Still not being recognized by my PC. I may try it again though. Last thing i tried was updating the bios on my Asus z97 motherboard which went really bad at first when my PC was stuck in a restart loop but i got it up and running again. Maybe uninstalling all display drivers now will make it work. Wish me luck.

Nope all display drivers uninstalled. Installed 15.11driver which actually said successful. Rebooted. Still no ouput and still not in device manager. Not sure if there is anything else to try. Starting the return process I guess. I really wanted to give AMD a shot
