Trouble left clicking on certain windows

This just started yesterday and I just don't get it. For instance, I can open Malwarebytes just fine, but when I try to select Custom Scan, can't do it. Then I will be online and all of a sudden I can't click to open anything. Not just with my mouse, but with my touchpad as well. Any ideas? This is about to drive me crazy!

update malwarebytes the reboot into safe mode and run it. Post your results.

OMG it was a nightmare! It was actually worse in safe mode! Couldn't get anything to work, not even task manager. The windows will open, but I can't click on anything in them. Logged back in normal and it is the same as before. Can't click on certain things and can on others. Also, noticed I can't drag things to the recycle bin. Sometimes, in normal mode, if I open task manager and switch to a program I can get it to work, but not all the time. Avast boot scan and full scan show nothing.
