Trouble opening an excel attachment from my job website.....

I am having trouble opening an excel attachment on my job website. I have a excel 2010, previously had 2007 and got rid of it due to all of a sudden attachments not opening from the same website. Can you help please?

double check the file extension at the end. if its 2007 and later it should be .xlsx if its not place the following at the end of the name .xls and see if that works.
