Trouble regarding dual monitor setup, monitor changes resolution when restarting PC

I'm using a GTX 1080 with an Asus Rog Swift PG279Q (2560x1440) and a BenQ XL2420T (1920x1080) as a secondary display. Both are connected by DP

Every time I restart my computer, my BenQ runs at 720p. The only way I can get it to run 1080p is by replugging it a number of times while it being switched off, then it reverts back to 1080p. Not sure if this is related to my GPU or my monitor(s)...

Edit:
I should add that the max available resolution after a computer restart for the second monitor is 720p, so I can't change it to 1080p in any other way than replugging it x number of times.
Also, it sometimes runs as intended after a restart, but only about 20% of the time...

All drivers are up to date

They are not on the same resolution.
PG279Q: 2560x1440
XL2420T: 1920x1080

try to run both the same resolution (in this case 1080p) and see what happen when you restart PC

The same happens. Main monitor runs at 1080p and the other one at 720p
