Trouble using HD TV as computer monitor

I am trying to use a Vizio E320-A0 as a computer monitor and the default display resolution is 1366 X 768. I have adjusted the resolution to 1920 X 1080 in the control panel, but whenever I do that everything shrinks down and the text and graphics are really fuzzy and blurry. I have also used the Intel graphics software to adjust the display settings, but nothing has improved. There are no options to adjust the picture to PC settings or a "PC" picture preset on my TV menu either.

How can I get a normal aspect ratio, and still get a clear Full HD picture?

Thank you for your help

And you are mistaken.

Unless you posted the incorrect model number of your HDTV, it is incapable of displaying 1920x1080 pixels. It simply does not have them...

Your HDTV cannot display a 1920x1080 image. It will accept one, but downscale it to a resolution it can display like 1366x768 or 1280x720. Your best bet would be to change your PC resolution to one of these lower resolutions so your HDTV does not have to downscale it.

Are you saying that my TV will accept a 1920 X 1080 image only from another source? Such as an Xbox or cable box? I know the TV is capable of showing a 1080p display because when I connect my Xbox, the top right corner of the TV shows "HDMI1 - 1080p" and I am certain it is indeed 1080p.

Is there any other solution? I have done research and others have no problem getting a Full HD display from their HDTV when connecting to their PC.

And you are mistaken.

Unless you posted the incorrect model number of your HDTV, it is incapable of displaying 1920x1080 pixels. It simply does not have them. Your TV will accept any 1080p input, but it is only capable of a maximum 1366x768 pixel display.

On the off chance that the specs are incorrect and that it's a native display of 1366x768, but capable of a 1920x1080 display, this would explain the fuzzy/grainy image you are seeing, but this is through no fault of the manufacturer.

Oh my god.... My mind just blew up. I could have sworn I had a 1080p TV all these years. I just checked the specs again and I was clearly mistaken on the max resolution. I was deceived with my Xbox input always displaying 1080p on the top corner.

Thank you for your help.
