Trouble with acer hard drive replacement, crashes on startup.

My PC's hard drive failed yesterday and I tried to replace it, when i put the new one in it blue screens for a split second on the "starting windows" screen, before rebooting. This seems to be a consistant problem across a lot of acer products but cant find anything online.... any help?

It was a hard drive i put win 7 on a while back, it was just never used as a main drive, it has some files on too.

sounds like the windows you put on there a while ago has the wrong drives for this system.
Will it boot into safe mode?
