Troubles Starting Computer

I have a custom built computer (homemade) and recently my solid state drive (I put my OS on this) went out. When I got the new solid state drive I was unable to start my computer with my hard drive also being connected to the mother board. I have the GA-Z77-DS3H Gigabyte mother board. I have been switching around a lot of cables and what is working right now with no hard drive plugged in is my disc drive plugged into SATA 2 slot 3, and where my hard drive is normally plugged into is SATA 2 slot 2, and my SSD plugged into SATA 3 slot 1. So I was wondering if there was something wrong with my hard drive or are my cables plugged in wrong?

Thank you so much for you time

Solution
After you switch the DVD, HDD, and SSD to different SATA ports, you need to change the boot priority in the BIOS too. Usually I will set the order like DVD/CD=1st, SSD=2nd, saving and exit.

Ok so I got my computer to start but my big hard drive is not showing up any where on the computer. Any suggestions on how to get it to show?
