I have a Thermaltake TR2 series power supply and an MSI A68HM-E33 motherboard. When trying to connect the PSU's SATA cable to the mobo, I found out that they're separate sizes. According to PC Part Picker and everything I've researched, they're supposed to be compatible, but the SATA cable on the PSU is too large to plug in to the SATA slots on the motherboard. They are both supposed to be SATA3 and 6Gb/s yet the SATA from the PSU is almost twice the size of the SATA slot on the mobo. :??:

Specifics:
Thermaltake TR2 ATX 450 Energy Star Certified Power Supply PS-TR2-0450NPCBUS-B
MSI Computer Socket FM2+/ AMD A68H/ DDR3/ SATA3&USB3.0/ A&GbE Motherboard Micro ATX DDR3 1333 A68HM-E33

And if it's relevant, it's a Western Digital WD3200AAJS 320GB Hard Drive. The SATA cables from the PSU plug in to the HDD without issue--it's connecting to the mobo that has me stuck.

Update: I moved ahead with installing the optical drive, just so I'd be able to put that out of my mind, but the SATA cable that's connected to the optical drive won't reach to the mobo. Even if it could reach, I have the same problem with that SATA cable as the one I connected to the HDD.

It came with a bunch of small screws & standoffs for installation, but no cables. Do I just need to order separate SATA Data cables?
