I have chased this wild goose for quite a while to no avail. Initially I assumed my ssd was dying. I began to slowly lose access to different parts of my computer. First, one user account, then another. Eventually, I could only boot in safe mode. I removed my important data, and decided to use the "Reset My PC" option in windows 10. It failed to reset my PC. It said, something went wrong.
I replaced my boot drive and created new windows 10 boot media using the window media creation tool. I completed a fresh install of windows 10 on a brand new Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD. The computer runs terribly.
As for symptoms that I have been able to track down. On the task manager, my SSD appears to be railed at 100% activity while my cpu sits idle at 1-2%.
Are there any software tools out there that will help me diagnose which part of my PC is dying?
