Computer died a few weeks ago, power supply failure (tested). Upon replacing the PS the computer did not boot.

Running a AMD Phenom II 555 BE on a M4A88TD-V EVO/USB. The computer was built 2011 and did not show any signs of problems until last fall. Last fall the Optical audio port went out on the MOBO, purchased a RX470 and ran HDMI audio.

A few weeks ago the computer would not power.

I removed the power supply, jumped pins 13/14, tested the + volt leads and got nothing. Took it to a shop, same results. Power supply replaced (and working) computer did not power when switched on.

Things I tested with the new power supply: reversed power sw and reset sw (still unable to power), removed and reset the RAM, changed the DIMM that the RAM is installed (different channels and single stick), moved the jumper to reset the CMOS, disconnected all power accessories (drives, fans, vid card) and tired to power, removed vid card.

The motherboard power, green led, lights indicating power. But nothing changes depressing the power switch, no POST, just silence.

I am trying to determine if power from the MOBO to CPU has shorted, or if my CPU went bad. Or something else? Perhaps an external power switch...

All in all, 6 year run on this board and cpu. Not too big of a deal if I lost her.

Thanks in advance.

You said that you're already tried all possible troubleshooting solution and still not getting good result.
You have replaced your PSU, swapped your RAM, and breadboarding your PC (disconnecting all peripheral and reinstalling it) which is common solution to troubleshoot a "dead" or "won't boot" PC.

Did you try to run your system outside the case?
High probability that back side of your motherboard is shorted by the case.

Did not run it outside of the case, not sure why after 6 years the mobo would be shorting on the case. I did remove the back panel, perhaps I can peek in and check.
