troubleshooting my pc

I've built my own PC and had it running for a good few months now.

I was a way for a week and so it wasn't used, have come back to it and its playing up.

Whenever I turn it on it boots to BIOS gets to the windows 8 loading screen and then goes no further. The computer is on there's just no HDMI output. Occasionally itll boot into windows recovery option mode but won't get into windows from that either.

Once every so often it will actually get into windows but only for a few minutes before the screen goes dead.

See if can get into safe mode, may want check hard drive out on alt machine - check with manufacturer diagnostic utility. Start narrowing down issue - Isolate cause. May be just something with windows - might need to be reloaded. HDMI output - check cables, check see if card didnt come loose.

Thanks for the help! Reinstalled the BIOS firmware seems to have done the trick
